Thank you for your support and questions. The first question is easy. When I say ball shagging I just mean having to go pick up the ball. With this net, the system is designed so that the ball rolls back to your feet.

In terms of the turf and sidewalls, it is a little more complicated. These can only be purchased directly from the company. Current pricing of the sidewalls is $179. Given the overall size of the net, I don’t believe this is a necessary expense. Although, if you tend to grossly mishit the ball it might be advisable, especially if you will be using the net indoors. In terms of the turf, ProNet is selling theirs at $349. I would by a less expensive generic version at a smaller size.

I agree that the putting section isn’t as strong as the other sections. It’s good but not great.
The book did markedly improve my chipping and pitching.

I don’t think we mere mortals have a chance of figuring out pricing. I think when it comes to things like golf carry bags for example, PING is trying to position itself as one of the high quality players. Thanks for stopping by and looking at both of our websites.

Thanks for the comment. The JEF Chipping Net is a great aid. I keep one in my basement and frequently take it into my backyard to practice chipping. Practicing with it forces me to focus on my alignment and distance control. My chipping has greatly improved in the last year. Good luck.

Thank you for the comment. You are right the impact bag is a great learning tool. Who really helps you understand and feel what you’re correct form should be at contact with the golf ball. Good luck out there.

Practice is the only thing that can lead to improvement. I personally use this chipping net both outdoors and in my basement at home. I know that it has improved my chipping. I always had problems with my alignment and the direction of the ball flight when I chipped. This net, along with a few alignment rods allowed me to get my alignment right while aiming at the chipping net. As I improved I moved from aiming generally at the net to focusing in on the smaller sections of the net. So, I can’t tell you if it will work for you, but I am a huge fan of this particular net.

It should help. So much of fixing a slice is about returning the club face square to the ball. A synchronized swing with good tempo does a lot to help ensure proper ball impact. The SKLZ Gold Flex Strength Tempo Trainer really helps to hardwire both of these factors.

You should definitely give it a try and then leave us a comment letting us know how it works out!

Impact bags, like the Smash Bag, are one of classic teaching aids. Using it a couple times a week should help you engrain the right impact position and feel.

    Colin,

I completely agree on the Hogan book. I too have a well-used copy of the classic and am planning on writing a post on it in the next couple weeks. Thanks for the “push” I will move it up on my review list!

    Brock,

I have personally read/studied/used this book and it significantly improved my short game. I have actually taken it onto a short game practice range to help me. I am pretty fanatical about Secrets of the Short Game and I have given it to multiple friends. So, in short, it is easy to read and act on. It will improve your short game if you put it into practice.

If you would like to purchase the DVD, you should scroll to the bottom of my review and you will find a link to purchase it.

Thanks for the comment and question.

The magic of the SKLZ Gold Flex is that the weight and flex of the swing aid will naturally flatten your swing, add lag and help you achieve better tempo. So, just swing in a continuous metronome motion. You don’t need to force it by trying to replicate the perfect drive. Swing fluidly in rhythm and balance.

In terms of kids, the two models are based on height so the 40″ is for golfers shorter than 5′ 4″ and the 48″ is for golfers taller than 5′ 4″. We would suggest that you wait for your children to be more physically mature before using the Gold Flex. As a rule of thumb you should wait until they are at least 100 lbs in weight.

The Mickelson book is for all levels. It is fun to read. Loaded with easy to understand instruction as well as plenty of images to help folks visualize what they should be doing. I would say the Peltz book is more for golfers who are more serious and have played for awhile. It is a worthwhile, science-backed, thorough book on the short game.

In the future we will be recommending other great books for other aspects of the golf game.

    Thanks for the comment!

The Vktech Golf Grip Trainer is a great aid for helping people learn and “lock in” a proper golf grip. It really helps to have the fundamentals nailed down so that you are not fighting bad habits from the start. Good luck with the grip trainer and with golf!

There are so many things to say about your comment but let me just say. Thank you for sharing.

It is difficult for a golfer to effectively give another advice. They just can’t appreciate the physical or mental challenges the other person is going through. Especially if it is a spouse. That is why, I have stopped trying to get my wife to play golf.
